Specializing in Classic and Contemporary Hustle, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Ballroom and Salsa. DJ Girl Wonder aka Valerie Hunt lives in Phoenix, AZ. She is the IHDA (International Hustle Dance Association) regional rep. for Arizona. She is also known as “Arizona Val”.
Val is a native New Yorker from Rochester, NY. She has also lived in Baton Rouge, LA, West Palm Beach, FL and Los Angeles. She experienced first-hand the great disco music and culture of the disco era, and was fortunate to have danced at the “happening” clubs in major cities such as NYC, Buffalo, Toronto, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago and New Orleans. Kudos to the DJs that came before her!
Val started Hustle dancing in 1997; before that she was an avid freestyle dancer. Now she is also actively involved in club salsa, lindy hop, west coast swing, and ballroom dancing and fully understands the music requirements for each. Val holds regular Hustle Dances with lessons in the Phoenix area. She is DJ Girl Wonder, spinning hustle all over the Southwest.
